Shall Not Fade celebrate their 50th release after 5 years of the label with an all-time favourite and long-time friend, the inimitable ​Byron the Aquarius​. Returning to SNF for his second release on the label, the keyboardist, DJ and producer marks the labels milestone release perfectly. ​Sunsoaked house with a penchant for acid lines, jazz inspired keys and a bumpin’ groove, ​What Up Doe? Vol.2 ​is Byron at his best. A sonic homage to the very beginning for us.
Opener ‘​She Want To Work It’ is a masterclass in low-key sass and class, referencing warm, dusty hip-hop beats and daydreams, as it shifts into a luscious, vox heavy kick and clap groove. Futuristic acid lines bubble up on seemingly dreamy dub number, into glitchy electro realms on ‘I Can Feel It’, before imploding into full-blown sci-fi territory on the flip.
