Review
In addition to his celebrated work as part of Genius of Time, Alexander Berg has been building a profile as a solo producer under the Dorisburg mantle with releases for Aniara and Bossmusik. Berg’s solo moves focus on robust, no-nonsense techno with just the right amount of murky, clandestine textures and that’s very much the case on this second Bossmusik drop. Heavyweight drums and impressive percussion programming are the key to production potency here, and “Liksom” is particularly revelatory. Not only is the groove dense and rolling, it also includes some fantastically jackin’ drum machine builds. “Eller” is a little deeper (and certainly murkier), with punchy but swinging percussion underpinning weird chords and strange textures.
